published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology
reported on researchers who used CT scanner to test how the body
reacts to stomach fat.
This
study marks the first time CT scanning was used to study fat depots
located in specific areas for direct associations with disease risk.
The study revealed that fat on the stomach is simply dangerous, the
researchers were surprise to find that where the fat is carried on
the body really matters! Not losing belly weight was the main link to
heart disease and cancer. It is in fact inflammation that
is causing our inability to lose weight
today. Processed foods have made the food makers rich while
increasing our inflammatory obesity.
"Contrary
to previously published studies comparing BMI and waist
circumference, the presence of abdominal fat improved the ability to
predict for cardiovascular disease, supporting the hypothesis
that abdominal fat may partially underlie the association of
body fat and heart disease and cancer," said Dr. Caroline S.
Fox, senior author on the study and a senior investigator at the
National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute Laboratory for Metabolic and
Population Health in Framingham, Mass.
Professor Luigi
Fontana at Washington School of medicine stated
“Nowadays,
it’s clear that atherosclerosis is an inflammatory disease. There
also is evidence that inflammation plays a role in cancer, and there
is even evidence that it plays a role in aging. Someday we may learn
that visceral fat is involved in those things, too.”
If
you are not losing belly weight with dieting you are not alone,
millions diet and the stomach fat does not leave, the reason for this
is inflammation . The food today causes inflammation leading to belly
fat, it is not your fault. The food causes inflammation and insulin
resistance and this is why even thin people carry stomach fat today.
