It is becoming a very common question, how to lose 100
pounds or less; in this post we will address one of the more common misconceptions
about losing a good amount of weight. Obesity is a growing concern in much of
the world; obesity was recently described as an full scale epidemic by the
World Health Organization. The key to weight loss is diet; to be specific it is
the right combinations of foods which cause fat to come off the body. IN this post we will discuss how to lose 100
pounds from the perspective of science( in regards to diet and exercise).
Does exercise actually cause weight loss?
It may surprise people to discover that exercise plays a
very small role in losing weight, exercise can improve the functioning of the
organs of the body, but it does not equate to weight loss. Exercise in
moderation can improve heart, liver and lung functioning but the research is
clear that exercise does not equal a thinner body. The people huffing and puffing in a gym will
swear that the gym is making them thinner but this is not the facts, it is DIET
which is the main cause of the loss of body fat.
“Many people believe that you rev up” your metabolism after an exercise session “so that you burn additional body fat throughout the day,” said Edward Melanson, Ph.D., an associate professor in the division of endocrinology at the School of Medicine and the lead author of the study. The fact of the matter is that you do not burn additional body fat through out the day. When seeking how to lose 100 pounds your concentration should be on the right food combinations. Professional basketball, football, and tennis athletes exercise over 60 hours a week and do not lose any weight, they are not getting thinner.
